You can file 2 applications. It's likely that they will not issue two Advance Parole and EAD applications to each of you. At some point down the road USCIS will make you choose which application to pursue to completion.

We didn't have issues getting the original loan and getting refinances for our home with H1 and our EAD/ AP....although they need lot more paperwork. But if you have good credit score, and if you have the papers that they request, you should be able to get a good rate. The time from application to closing takes a little longer though.

Sorry dude, I couldn't give you a green though I wanted to because some people gave me a red for speaking the truth and now I need to have some more reputation to give you a green again.
The processing time is different for different cases depending on the time it takes for background processing and all that. I think that is why sometimes we see an earlier case getting processed ahead of a later case, but I just cannot think of a reason why the processing of a 2002 case got delayed.

For the longest time we didn't participate in my employer's 401 K plan because we weren't sure if we will get our green card and become permanent residents and hence be able to enjoy fruit of our labor after retirement. I didn�t buy life insurance, or make long term investments for the same reason - unless we get a green card it seems like we are living in an exotic refugee camp. We haven't bought a home because our H1Bs have always been tied to a particular employer, and there is always this chance where if for some reason one of us loses our job, then we will not be able to afford the mortgage and may also have to leave the country in a matter of days, leaving no time for us to sell the house.

Friends, I Received the magic email today!
Yes - I cant believe my eyes, my I-485 has been approved today and card production ordered.
I do have a question: I could not file for my wife's i-485 in July/2007. So, we filed for my wife's application on Aug/01/2008 (Did a overnight express mail on July-31st) as my PD is current as of Aug-1st. So far her application check has not been deposited.
What will happen now? Is she out of status? I am getting really concerned. Gurus help me out?

Labor has to be pending 1 year. I think you will get your PERM approval soon as DOL at present is free.
Be prepared with the paper work for your I-140 premium so that you can file it as soon as you get the PERM approval.
The lawyers will say it will take them no time but they will delay it by at-least 3 weeks to get the paper work done.
In the worst case go for a vacation for 4 months to Canada, get your paper work mailed to you, get the extension stamping done and be back.

I trust IV core members 99% for their efforts. But the remaining 1% does not come from the fear that IV is corrupt financially. It comes from the lack of information. If IV does not let the members know about their plans, how many members do the core expect to trust them and make an almost blind contribution? I suggest that members who want to contribute do the following.
1. pick up your phone and get ready to contribute.
2. call IV and during the call, contribute.
3. verify with IV that you are not a spy by giving your detailed information.
4. IV email you or mail you the ongoing plan.

As for the state chapter, I don't think IV should push for it in the near future. It will take a long time to build the grassroots. It won't be done in this year, in my opinion.

Your rights as a participant of a bulletin board or online forum like Immigration Voice forums:
The rights of bloggers (site admin, site owner or site moderators), their liability and section 230. They are different in every state. What those laws do in general is make the plaintiff of SLAAP lawsuit pay the defendant for the cost of litigation and defense if they lose. So if someone from state that has ANTI-SLAAP laws sues us, then the money we spend on litigation would have to be paid by plaintiffs if they lose. Therefore there is good chance of finding a pro-bono lawyer because if they win, they get paid from the other party. What this means is that it�s difficult to drive someone to bankruptcy with frivolous lawsuits if the state has good ANTI-SLAAP laws. California is one example. Therefore the chances of us getting sued by someone in CA are lesser than other states.

* AILA has reported that USCIS will resume I-140 PPS in limited circumstances. According to the report PPS should be available for those beneficiaries whose H will expire within 60 days of filing the request, and who need the I-140 approval to become eligible for that additional H time. Please stay tuned for the official notice of the USCIS.

I am planning to change jobs using the EAD / AC-21 in the next couple of months. To start off the process I wanted to get all the approval notices from the lawyer so that I have all the documents in place before I change jobs.
My employer uses a popular law firm to handle the immigration filing etc. I sent an email to the lawyer asking them to send me a copy of the I-140 approval notice.The lawyer responded that according to my company's internal policy they will not provide me a copy of the I-140 approval notice.
I would like to know the following -
1) Has someone else also faced a similar issue ?
2) If so , is there a way to get them to send me a copy of th 140 approval notice
3) Does the employer by law have the authority to restrict the distribution of the 140 approval notice
4) Do I need the 140 approval notice in order to use EAD/AC-21 to change jobs ?

Solitary 2 would have been a very strong shot if you'd been able to do two things:
Include the hole and fishing line going down into it.

We live in business world. Bright Companies pay salary at bad economic times to retain skilled employees. Desi companies pay more even during bench to retain employees, american companies dont and lay them off. That is precicly the reason desi companies succeed.
where is Gandhi's quote that says dont draw salary during bench time.
On the other hand he has said
"Commonsense is the realised sense of proportion".

It makes common sense (for companies) to pay more during bad economic times to retain bright people (current-loss and future-profit proportion).
Well I dont understand you guys... Why the hell u start cursing... If i was a Devil or what so ever taking a illegal route... I wouldnot have posted this question here but would have gone the route and started the process
Btw before cursing.. at least think twice...
and wat about all those desi who work with consultancy who stay on bench etc etc ... where does Oct 2nd/ gone for them..,..? I am sure people who cursed me were one of them !
Infact ateast I am open and willing to ask people before taking any unethical step or wrong step...!
