Could these be Apples baby-steps into the console Market?
I predict we're going to hear about more than baby steps before the end of the year. If Apple really takes on gaming, it could be really cool with all the devices you could have for interaction and play.
I think we'll hear more from the WDC.

When I check for updates in outlook it tells me 'no updates available' ... oh well, downloading it now directly from the webpage linked in the article.Perhaps it doesn't detect the update unless you use Outlook. Some MS Office users, like me, don't even install Outlook, and Check for Updates didn't show it for me either.
Moving from Outlook is a good think no matter what. The databases used stinks. It chokes at about a million records and sooner or later, it will slow down, become lazy and before you know it... done. Corrupted... just like a US politician. :D
I find that it corrupts the database when it reaches 2GB in storage, no matter how many messages are involved.

No, no, no! Don't you know, after 10.4.9 Apple has run out of numbers! It'd have to be 10.5.0!
:D
Couldn't resist...sorry!
No, not THIS discussion AGAIN. This got a lot of talk at 10.3.9...

from your same source, the VERY NEXT paragraph:
The EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM is a great example of a well designed EF-S series lens. It provides a field of view similar to what Canons popular EF 16-35mm f/2.8 L II USM and EF 17-40mm f/4.0 L USM do on a full frame camera like the 5D Mark II.
Yup. So the EF-s lens is providing a field of view of 16-35.2mm in full-frame, 35mm equivalent. So is effected by the 1.6 crop. Which is what I've been saying all along.

This is totally off subject but...
????????? doesn't make much sense, sure that is what he said? kyo ha pasokon desu? hmmm...
and...
I agree with you. Even though ??? can be read as Konnichiwa. In most cases it will be read as Kyouwa. Usually Konnichiwa is written in Hiragana (?????). I am not saying it is not used but the Kanji usage is very rare and most Japanese will read it as Kyowa.
Linguistically the humor of the first commercial "Work vs Mac" is very Japanese. It is too the point where even as a consultant in East Asian cultures I had to watch it several times till I really got the joke. Still cannot laugh. My wife (Japanese) said it was not funny and must have been written by a Kanto comedian. If a Kansai comedian had written it, it would have been funnier.

A call from The Consumerist to AT&T online sales:
Daphne: Welcome to AT&T online Sales support. How may I assist you with placing your order today?
Laura: Hi, I was looking at the iPhone 3Gs and the system tells me that I cannot order one in my ZIP code. My zip code is 11231. (Brooklyn, NY) Is this true? Are iPhones no longer available in New York City?
Daphne: I am happy to be helping you today . Yes, this is correct the phone is not offered to you because New York is not ready for the iPhone.
Daphne: You don't have enough towers to handle the phone.
Laura: Thank you for your help. So the phone is not available to people anywhere in the city?
Daphne: Yes this is correct Laura.
-----------
This is an effing joke. You are actually trying to stop paying customers from using your service? AT&T, you're an embarrassment. Apple had better make sure this exclusivity ends next year. This is about as ridiculous as it can get.

Ill agree with you on Lack of Education and Religious Extremism. Resentment, somewhat. I tend to think that if we just leave them the heck alone to do whatever they want and be as Shariah as they please we will see less terror attempts.
Terrorism typically arises from some sort of injustice. I think there is some truth to the clich "one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter." But "leaving them alone" is somewhat problematic as long as we support multinational enterprise that seeks to extract maximum profit in every corner of the world. Even if the business s not based in America, America is the most prominent target.
I know it is not apples-to-apples, but I was wondering if anyone has seen the National Geographic on North Korea? One part that struck my nerve was at the end when the doctors were removing the bandages from the patients eyes, one of the North Koreans first thing to do was go praise a poster of Ill and promise to "Destroy the american scum with my new eyes" or something like that, despite the fact that much of the equipment used to complete the surgeries was American made and American funded IIRC.
Most likely, the government expects this sort of show of loyalty, when they are paying for your treatment. If you do not do this, you would probably labeled as seditiously ungrateful and they would find some way to make your life miserable.

Its just disappointing to see something intel only. I thought this would be extremely rare, and it should never actually happen. Don't they understand that you ABSOLUTELY HAVE to support older systems. Not everyone has the means to just buy a brand new computer everytime software they want is released. I hope this is just a one off case of it being Windows only, and Adobe just making it intel only cause it was easier.

I may end up waiting for the inevitable 3DS "lite". $250 seems like a lot for a handheld console and I am not impressed with the battery life. Quite frankly I am not impressed with the launch lineup either. A few of them are games I would buy if I had the 3DS already, but they're not exactly console sellers for me.
Plus Pokmon Black & White will keep my DSi in fairly good use for a long while. :D

Well, the Xoom isn't tied to the carrier. Google uses it (currently, at least) as the reference device for their Honeycomb platform.
I think iPad 2 and iOS has advantages, but as an Apple supporter myself and user/dev owner, too, I think the hubris in this community is very dangerous.
The bigger they are, the higher they fly...you know how the saying goes. The U2 wasn't untouchable, and neither is the iPad 2. The sooner we get over this idea that there is an inherent superiority anything Apple, I really think the better off Apple and its products and the ecosystem actually will be!
Ever since Android was released on phones I have been hearing that it "is just a release or two away from being a great OS". The reality is that most Android devices are extremely lucky if they get one upgrade ported to them by their carrier. I'll stick with an iPad2 rather than buying something and hoping that it improves with time.

Steve doesn't own the company, the stock holders do.
I think Steve would take issue with that statement.
____
And don't get me started on whether those poor soldiers are defending their country or providing protection for oil company 'activities'. Under any circumstances, they do deserve gear that 'works'.
I support veterans and families, they risk their lives and the government screws them over, but I cannot condone the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.
I nearly threw up when I heard General Jay Garner triumphantly announcing, "Ladies and gentlemen, we're in the oil business," the day before he was replaced by a civilian administrator.
