I submitted Proof Of Status along with my I-485 as my lawyer asked for it.. Not sure if everyone does... It was a statement (1 page word doc) with all my H1/I-94 history... I was missing few I-94 numbers, I left it blank... And attached all my H1B copies along with it...
Remember that your I-94 # changes only when you tarvel outside US... So it should be quite simple to keep track... I-94 # is also written on your H1 extension if done while in US... So I was in nutshell able to get most of my I-94 numbers.. except for one duration when I travelled on same H1 twice.. So lost that I-94 #.. But had same H1B for that duration.. SO guess it should be okay...

Thank you all for the advise. I used Photo shop to adjust required size and pixels. As I shrunk to less than 62.5kb, it won't 240 x 320.. became smaller. anyway, I could send it...

Today Times of India has published an article "Immigrants cost Americans low-skilled jobs". They have referred a study by Center for Immigration Studies. I have already written to TOI for publishing this and urged them to stop helping anti-immigrant groups by publishing such articles. All members please post comments on this article and ask TOI to stop nonsense. whether low-skilled or high skilled this is going to help anti-immigrant cause.

I agree US having fair consideration for illegals because of political reasons(VOTES to be specific)
but the author comparing India & Mexico having strict rules.. common...
India have borders open for Bangladesh and whoever crosses the border, with out any shame
the present ruling party kaangress is giving Ration Card and Voters Id.
Mexico we all know how tuff the law is and what they do.
So Please do not compare apples with oranges.. whoever is the author.
Now Texas, Utah, the list goes on, Hope at least because of this CIR will come to the floor soon!
here there is no legals and illegals now, no one should be allowed to do divide and rule policy.

Hi,
I am in a similar situation. I am in US on B1 visa and accidently damaged my passport.
Both my passport and I-94 are mutilated. Duplicate passport takes 6-8 weeks and I-102 takes close to 3 months.
What should I do? My exit date as per I-94 is Aug,25th.

I got my approval notice today, and as expected, it is approved as consular process with the Chennai consulate as the class consulate.
I hope I won't have any problems using EAD. Taking the dive now.

I filed for I-485 under EB3 category in July 2007 and have a priority date of March 2003. Since EB3 is not moving at all. I applied in EB2 category and got I-140 approved based on my old Priority date(March 2003).
My attorney sent a letter to USCIS and requesting them to approve my case based on my approved I-140 (EB2) in July 2009. Since then we haven't received any communication from them.
My case is current as of Aug 1st 2009 but no LUD's on my case.
How would I know that USCIS have changed my case from EB3 to EB2.
I apperciate your response in this regard.
If your new I-140 has the 2003 priority date on it and you have confirmed with the USCIS that your I-485 is now based on the EB-2 filing, i would wait for a couple of months, you have a good chance of approval of your I-485 if the visa number remains current for the next few months.
If you don't hear from them or if you are not sure that your new I-140 has been successfully interfiled with your pending I-485, then you could also apply for a new i-485 based on the EB-2 I-140. The USCIS might ask you which I-485 you want to keep as you are not allowed to file 2 adjustment cases. For cases that are current, i have recently noticed that they are approving I-485's in 2-3 months.

Hang in there, i am in a similar boat, I applied for 485 in late 2003 and missed the boat each time with namecheck, i was cleared all this while but my wife who is the primary was stuck. I am on my 4th EAD/AP, just applied for the 5time.
My 6 years of H1 expired long back, i guess we were lucky to be able to file for 485 and i could continue working on EAD.
Our great lawyer who filed an EB3 petion for my wife and 'advisied' my company 3 years back not to spend money on my labor because my wifes PD of mid 2002 was good. I know i should have broken a coconut and applied vermillion on the application before sending it off, maybe that would have changed everything :p

The question is, did you earn any money at all in 2007? The information you provided is a bit vague, in one place you say you received paychecks till December 15 2007, in another place you say you did not get paid in 2007. It is simple really, if you did not earn any money in 2007, then you do not have to add your W2 to your tax returns. If you did earn money in 2007, then the company has to supply you with a W2.
Of course, not earning any money in 2007, while keeping you okay with respect to the IRS, might get you in trouble with the USCIS.
also, not getting paychecks while on H1 open another can of worms.

nope... I have my receipt notice that has June 11th on it, but the only system says July 3rd, which is the day they sent my notice :)
i guess you're right. in my case, receipt date and online case date for I-140/change of status were the same.
anyway, Nebraska process around 4500 application per day--that includes all kinds of form I-765, I-131, I-140, I-485, etc. assuming that 25% of those are are I-485 then they process 1000-1125 I-485/day. again, assuming 40,000 I-485 are still to be encoded then the average waiting time is 35-40 days. whew, i expect mine first week of september.

I have sent an email to the Embassy today, enquiring about the status of my application and finally, for the very first time, received a response saying it will be checked into. I hope to hear that they have already mailed it out.
