my lawyer missed the 2nd july deadline even when he had all the papers. Now i am asking him to meet 30th july deadline he is not responding . what are the papers needed to file I485. Can I file it without lawyers help? He does have my immunization papers

Currently there is no way to pay this USD 100 from US. You have to arrange a contact, your relative etc, ask them to go to designated HDFC banks in India, pay the fees. Get the bar code # on the HDFC receipt over phone, and using that start filling an online application.
Remember, you NEED the ORIGINAL receipt to attend the visa interview. So, get it by Regd. Post or let your contact keep it in a safe place, you collect that when you meet him in India.

Guys..i have noticed that so many other members has already been complained about the getting Red dots for no reason...i got the red for this post for just a spell mistake. RFE was for I-485, Priority date is Aug 2006. I-140 is approved.
RFE was asking to show that I was in valid visa status between 1997 and 2000, but surprisingly, I came to US only in 2000 that too on 2 business VISAs so I never worked in US until 2001. My Lawyer sent an affdavit stating that I was not in US between 1997 and 2000 and I was on business VISA on two occasions in 2000, also letter said that if they wanted we could send them the copies of stampings on the passport.

I am working directly for the company, this is not a desi consultant but a legit desi owned business.
The difference in wage is about $7 an hour and total of around $13k a year. It doesn't seem like they give a crap about "breaking the rules". At the same time I don't want to be a party to that and be out of status later on.
My question is suppose I quit and go back to my H4 and in this economy dont get a job --- Can I get a job in 6 months and transfer my h1 or will I have to apply for a NEW H1 through the quota again?
Guessing how stingy these guys are , I don't think they have the time and the inclination to go out and cancel my h1. At the same time I want to get this done amicably so as to hold my job for 6-8 months. From some of the posts I have seen that the DOL doesnt really respond and required tremendous amount of proof and companies can pay a small fine and go on with their lives.

I have a friend holding a "Tourist Visa" and still back home. If an employer files I-140 for him, will that give him a risk of not allowed entry using Tourist Visa at the port of entry because he has an I-140 petition?
If he works for the same company abroad that filed for his i140, it should not be a problem. If he does not work and instead wants to come on a tourist visa, he might have problems.

We got a rejection notice for my wife's 485 & 765 application. The notice said

Your original Form I-130(petition for alien relative) if you are filing concurrently ; or
Your original Form I-360 if you are filing concurrently; or
A copy of your Form I-797 if the petition has already beed filed/approved; or
Other evidence that an immigration visa petition has been filed/approved on your behalf.

They sent an biometric appointment on 8/10. Not sure if it was becasue I called them or the address change.

Also got an email from CRIS saying "additional info needed" not sure if they mean the biometrics or they need something else.

I was asked by my lawyer to prepare this document in a tabular format. The document is to list my entry and exit dates, I797 numbers and I-94 numbers in a chronological order. He also suggested to decode the entry and exit stamps in my passport and take a copy of all these evidences and placed in chronolgical order. I dont know what the purpose here, I had all documents in scanned PDF and it was easy for me come up with document with right dates.

I am planning on changing to another company but I dont have the labor certification details. All I know is, it is Software Engineer and have salary details and some basic job requirements. My I-140 is approved. If I move to another company on EAD, and if I get an RFE, how can I provide the details of same/similar employment?

I don't think that with the EAD renewal receipt you can continue working. Right now, the EAD is valid for 1 year from the day the process and print your card and you cannot specify the employment dates(or they are ignored anyway). It works differently than an H-1B extension where you can specify the dates and even when they process you application say in April and you asked for it to start in march, the approval notice will have the starting period in March. For EAD, if they processed it in April, the starting date is in April.

Thank you very much. :) I'm not much cop at the fantastic Photoshop stuff - a lot of these guys seem to be able to do them blindfold (Eilsoe, Edwin, I'm talking about you here :) ). I tend to stick more to line art. I did write a tutorial on how to do it for kirupa.com. It's buried under Flash MX - Special Effects - Line Art or something similar. It's cheating really, as I draw by hand first, scan in then trace in Flash. But sometimes you can get really nice effects.
I'm about to try playing around with Fireworks now for those animations. Stupid of me really, I've got it here on my PC, but I never thought of using it. Duh... Fingers crossed it'll work out. As far as I can tell, it's Imageready that's bumping up the file size...
