I was drawn to this forum because I am interested in computers generally and macs almost qualify.....but seriously I poked around on a mac for about an hour today, and found that some things are less intuitive (minimizing and closing windows). Also I found that some things easily accessible in windows are not accessible at all in mac OSX. I felt like the computer was "dumbed down" for me. All in all it was a computer and pefectly capable internet machine, but at least in an hour nothing even came close to winning me ove. Oh yeah it also crashed once too.

Did Apple do this last year? If not, this could mean Apple really wants developers to give users who purchase the next iPhone an enhanced experience over iPhone 4 users. What that enhanced experience is remains to be seen. Maybe 1GB of ram and something else that will make some iPhone 4 users jealous, especially when their iPhone 4 turns into an iPhone 3G someday.

Yes and they quite happily play the same media from any of my devices with media on without needing a new 'revolutionary' apple standard, why not make apple devices support DLNA out the box.

Apple has periods in which they allow people to apply for AppleSeed accounts. The purpose is to help them test their OS updates and releases in environments they are not able to replicate themselves. To this end I am not sure how your friend can 'get' you a seed account, legitimately. if you go the AppleSeed page you are generally greeted with the message
"We are not seeking new participants. You must have an invitation in order to log in."
That being said, anything relating to the seeds you would download are covered by NDA (non-disclosure agreement) and are legally binding. So your answer would be you cannot, legally, talk about those issues in any other forum then the one they provide.
The Select and Premier account levels allow the principle owner to give out Seed access to any ADC member. That means if you have a free account, and I'm a Premier member, I could give you seed access.

I'm with you. I already catched myself looking up a number in my nano's address book ("contacts") and looking for the "call" item. I'd love to have the main menu going "Music \n Phone \n Phone \n Extras etc." But the nano might actually be a little small for a phone. Try holding one at your ear for a minute. How about an add-on that you plug in on the bottom via the dock connector? Makes the thing a little longer and you can just upgrade your iPod. Kinda like the iTrip, but in the exact same design as the iPod itself.
No way would an iPhone launch without a keypad. Text messaging is too popular. I think it will be a slider phone, though, so they keyboard is tucked away until you need it.
And I don't think the nano length is too short for a phone. My SonyEricsson is the same height as the Nano.

Get lost in the world of gear. Spend your time reading about the specs of forthcoming cameras and lenses, instead of actually taking pics. Denigrate the gear you have; fantasise about a fancier camera. That would make you a better photographer, surely? ;)

I have been thinking about this a lot. I am anarchist politically, but lets put that aside for this discussion.
Lets assume that democrats in political office by and large do care about issues of poverty and inequality. Lets take them at their word for a just a moment.
The reality is that even if they "care", they are not impacted by these issues in the real world. They come from a position a privilege, one in which the reality of actually needing and using social welfare programs will never effect them.

This is getting WAY off topic, but...
@Cliff, my bad I remember seen the high speed crop also on the D3 series but I might be wrong. The D700 however does have a crop but also allows you to shoot your DX lens on full frame (which will vignette) but has no speed increase over the full frame mode.
There is no need to speculate when the manuals are freely available for download. The D3/D3S has additional crop options, but those options reside on the same menu I mentioned in my previous post. I replaced my D2X with a D700 a little over 2 years ago and so I am very familiar with both cameras.
