I believe the place is built entirely without nails, using old Japanese techniques. He brought in 3750 tons of hand-chisled granite, and 5000 tons of boulders, and moved 81,000 cubic yards of earth for his estate. I haven't been in, but it's intriguing from the gate-house.
-- Bridges and pathways lead to a teahouse, moon pavilion, guesthouse, bridge house, boathouse, barn and "Katsura house," a made-in-Japan near replica of a famous teahouse built as part of a royal compound of the same name in Kyoto, Japan, in the early 1600s.

yeah tell me about it. and i was gonna setup a system here in the hotel, but the internet is terrible here! and i have to call everyday to get them to open the port in my room! -but i'm gonna try and get this straight tomorrow.

Yes they do. BUT not when it means a crap ass experience for the customer. Because that just results in returns, complaints etc. LTE right now is only in a handful of major cities and not even perfect coverage there.
As for the whole "but android" argument, Apple doesn't do things just because everyone else does. Which is why we still don't have blu-ray in their computers despite every other computer (including even some so called netbooks) having had blu-ray drives for at least the last year. We also don't have Flash in the iphone etc despite every other smart phone having Flash and every other announced tablet saying it would.

this is not going to happen in the near future. This probably has a chance if Apple's notebook marketshare doubles from what it is now. They might have to have two chipmakers to satisfy demand in about 5 years..........but now this is just bs, i wish digitimes would stop speculating about apple rumors because their always way, way off.

I think Arn was extremely responsive to the issue and avoiding these kinds of inadvertent spoiling is difficult to do in this day and age. My brother even txted me a spoiler. Is it possible to be completely unspoiled regarding something like this?
There is no spoiling information so far in the story, but I imagine most of us are avoiding digg like the plague.

Doubt it. WWDC people can pay to get a seat - it's how it works. This event is a media only invite thing. I suspect that the guys at MacRumors aren't high on Apple's invite list. :-)

"iPod Bug Fixes"
I hope that they finally fix the bug where lyrics disappear when the song changes. That's been there for awhile and is extremely irritating.
Also, the even BIGGER bug where iTunes will not load any additional songs onto the iPhone / iPad if you approach having only 1 GB free space left and you use the 128 kbps conversion option. That's been there for almost two YEARS without being addressed, although this may be an iTunes thing.

What an awesome idea. Show up to your local Apple Store to watch the keynote and buy the product(s) that are available that day as soon as Steve says, "See you again soon."
Doesn't anyone remember that this used to be the case? Right in the beginning, there was a live video feed to all the Apple stores... I went to two of them, both at the Mall of America store (and both times sat next to some very quirky Mac users... y'know... the regular type). Then one year, I went and it wasn't on. I was pissed. Then I learned Apple wasn't doing that because it was too expensive or something.
Seeing the floor traffic of those places, I don't see how it couldn't be lucrative to get passers-by excited about fresh products...
Whatever, I guess.

that's their profits. texting and tethering. those of us with just the regular service barely pay the bills
same reason why the lower end imacs mbp's are not that good a buy or the GPU's are gimped on them and the $2000 model has the good GPU and 1GB of GDDR5

Yeah....in case it wasn't obvious just by listening to the song, he's *criticizing* this view point (******* the police) not endorsing it. But I think if people listen to the song that's actually pretty obvious. That entire song is about the frailty and inability of the gangsta' image to make black people feel good about themselves, not an endorsement of that image.

Apple is proving a point. A point that most consumers, many people on these macrumors boards and even intelligent users don't understand.
ALL phones are subject to detuning. The amount of detuning is up to the phone but this is natural. When someone told me, your signal drops when hold the iphone in a wierd way....no s***.
Anyone with half a brain should already know the outcome. Also, holding your phone a certain way doesn't create a blackhole. It creates a constant -24dbm drop. I'll say that again. CONSTANT! Not accelerating.

I was disappointed with most of it but I think that's because the lack of any mention of Mac Mini. I was ready to buy one today, credit card on the table. Now I will probably head out this week and get an iMac instead. The Mini was a great idea and still could find a place for people who just want a quick, inexpensive set up, but it seems Apple is not bothered with the affordables. I thought we might have seen a shift in Apple ideology with the introduction of the Mini, but that was a pipe dream.
Time Capsule looks great, though, and it will work out well with my MacBook and the iMac. The iPhone update was ok but now that I've seen 'My Location' place me about a mile off-track, sent 2 mass SMS, and watched the icons jiggle, it has worn off. Makes me wonder what the folks in the iPhone development team are doing these days, as Google made the Maps app so all Apple did was implement Webclips and multi-SMS. Woohoo! :rolleyes:

No one has given a point of view about that. You quite misunderstand what everyone is saying.
As for your code, you still have not really given us a clear indication of at what stage you are now and what isn't working. Now we know you want to do a sort of count down timer. I'm guessing you're trying to make a cooking timer kind of app since you said you were a pastry chef and that was what your first app was based on. Is this correct ? (<-- not a quiz question).
Now, what is not working ? Is the timer getting created ? Is it calling the method identified by the target and selector attributes when the interval you specified ends ? Is it repeating or not repeating (depending on how you set the repeat parameter on it) ?
When a timer repeats, it will simply call back the selector in the target specified.
Does your button that "cancels" it call your cancel method ? What have you done to check this ?
