I would take the NDP and higher taxes over rolling our social programs backwards. I can see, however, that our politics are drifting ever more towards a left/right schism, just like the US. As I said before, I would like to see all three major parties move towards the center.

Think about it for a second: if this were really an effort to reduce network traffic, it would be a piss-poor way of going about it. For one thing, denying the iPhone to new customers would be far less dependable than throttling data speed. For another, they're closing down only one of many distribution channels, meaning that people in NYC will still be able to get all the iPhones they want. Finally, this would be a public admission that their network is insufficient...and more fodder for the Verizon commercials. You can't tell me that that's not first in every AT&T Wireless executive's mind right now.
I don't know what's going on -- everything is just speculation based on what some low-level AT&T employees (probably new ones who couldn't get out of the holiday shift) said. And I'm not going to jump to any conclusions. I'm just saying that the Consumerist's interpretation doesn't make much sense.

Since the other thread was closed, i decided to reply to your ignorance in this thread. I hope you realize how ignorant you sound. Who the hell are you to judge my choices and decide i've made poor choices? Do you know my circumstances? No. Maybe i live in my parents house, maybe i don't go to a university but a community college instead. No dorms at community colleges. I live 20 minutes away from it. By your logic nobody should ever live in the suburbs. What an idiotic remark. :rolleyes:

I just had a stroke of genius. What if, one could harness Gmail's huge amount of server space and somehow have it host your files as if a web server? I don't personally know if it could be done.

Having installed lion, then re-ran the installer to change to lion server, it seems to re-install the os, although lion server seems to be more of an add-on (applications/services) rather than a a difference in OS.
With lion server i don't see apple releasing new server hardware other than utilising the mac mini / pro. all the services including the new profile tool look to be aimed at soho business for file-sharing/back-up or larger business utilising lion server as an add-on to current services/server to simply manage the profiling for idevices/computers, and maybe some file-sharing/podcasting/wiki or ichat.
It might just be me but allot of services such as web/mail seem to be simplified as in the mail services has only one domain option to serve mail from, there might be a alias option somewhere but i couldn't find it, the same goes for web, you can create more than one domain but there do-sent seem to be an option for alias.
Mail although failing to run seems to still run squirrel mail but am unable to login and see if there are any changes.

My Macpro is shipping tomorrow, I wonder if they will do the update since it's still technically in their hands.
Speaking of which, the build times are much faster! I ordered my Macpro with X1900, 2 gigs of ram, Bluetooth/Airport and 160 drive last Saturday. They placed a hold on my order until Tuesday while verifying my educational status, then sent me a notice the next day (Wednesday) telling me that my order is being processed. My Macpro is scheduled to ship tomorrow and my new 23" ACD is on the truck for delivery today. If everything goes well, I might have a new system for the weekend. That's pretty damn fast for a BTO!

I'm a bit confused, because, I can't update the EFI ... I strictly followed the instructions. Poweron while holding the power button... then some secondes after speed flashs of the led (I mean stroboscopic) and then just a long BIIIIIP and normal boot after that ...

Do these devices need to access anything on your LAN, or do they just need Internet access ?
If they need LAN access, then if you're thinking about just using mac address filtering for them, then why bother with WPA2e for the rest ?
If they just need Internet access, then use a different SSID connected to a VLAN that only has Internet access, obviously with suitable firewall rules in place.
I tend to suggest using a wired connection for anything that doesn't support wireless at the required security level, and if it only supports wireless at a level that doesn't meet the required security level, then I wouldn't purchase it.

The iMac 27" is my favorite.. none of the all-in-ones it's compared to are even the same size on that chart. Even if you build a computer with the same equipment it's more:

I would be surprised if Apple reverted to having the headphone jack on the bottom of the iPhone next to the charging slot. This seems very suspect to me.

Ignoring current situations and if I could have it any way I want:

- Nvidia GeForce GTX 460M
- SD Card Slot
- Thunderbolt Port in ADDITION to 2 USB ports.
- Get rid of the bezel around the screen and either make the screen slightly larger or make it black edge similar to MBP.
I would just settle for the i5 and Nvidia chip. As for the collapsable ethernet port... moving parts? ew.

...it worked reliably from my Mac Mini (2010) to my iPad 2 without saying "you are not authorized to play this video" every other time, I would care.
