Folks,
Majority of the PA folks are voting "will not attend " or " may be". Also i personally called a few friends to urge them to attend the rally but the feedback is very poor. Please folks what is the problem, try to make the effort to do this. This may be our last chance to encourage congress to do something to help our cause. If we miss this then nothing is likely to happen in 2008 as it is a election year and nobody will dare touch immigration and in 2009 when a new president is elected immigration will not be a top priority for the new administration. What more suffering you need to take some action. You are doing this not for somebody else but for "YOU". IV core is expecting 10,000 members/Legal EB immigrants to attend, but now it seems its tough to achieve. Please take this opportunity to help ourselves , nobody else will fight for our cause. I request/urge every one affected by this broken immigration system to act now before its too late.
This is my personal view , please ignore if you feel its not right.

The Republican targets for compromise are the usual suspects � Sens. I can't answer your 1st question but you can spend a day and get a new Passport from NY consulate in the same day....
I also did the same thing last week - my old passport is valid for another
9 months but 485 takes long time and by that time if my PP No changes communication that is again a hassle.

I am from India and I am getting ready to file my 485 in 1st week of July. I have an approved 140.
I have two issues I am not sure about how to procced --

Do not worry I was in similar situation last year and my ex employer was from NJ.. I Complained to DOL and they made him to pay me...

I am in the same situation as you. My wife's employment is expected to end in the Middle of March.
1. Is it necessary to have receipt number from I-539 in hand by the time the employment is ending or is it ok to mail the I-539 after the employment end date. I am asking this since my H1 is up for extension after April 1st. I am trying to understand whether there is any risk in applying for my wife's COS H1-H4 along with my H1 extension. In this case, there would be gap of 15 days between my wife's last working day and when I plan to send documents for my H1 extension and my wife's H1-H4 COS.
2. Also, if we change it to H4, is it the end of H1. Do we have the option of switching back to H1 at later date without having to go for a fresh H1.

There are orgnizations that are opposed to this bill and are stronger than us. Only consistant efforts to make our voices heard would produce favorable results. We need letters comming from all members to these lawmakers so that when we lobby, these lawmakers already know that there are a lot of people who want this done and there is a broadsupport for such reforms.

Don't sweat it. I too overlooked this field during my last e-filing in 2008. The date of last arrival field is easy to miss, since it is embedded right under a set of "previous EAD" fields, some of which you would likely leave blank if you don't have too many previous EADs. I simply included this data item on a separate piece of paper with my supporting documentation. I didn't face any delays in my EAD approval...it was approved in a few weeks.
I don't think this is any cause for concern.
I guess USCIS IT department does not have the budget to hire a usability expert to review their e-filing forms. Some of those forms look like "hello world" projects. :)
This is my second renewal, first time did it online it was smooth! This time the online process seemed little different, they were asking for few info at a time and we got to click the continue button...I was just doing fine and was waiting that at some point it would show the complete application for me to review, but I got to the last page and said something like "Submit" or "Finish" and I did ...everything was ok got the confirmation....OOPS, left the date of last arrival blank! Had put the Port of arrival correct, but left the date blank!
How is this going to affect my EAD, anyone had similar experience ? In the confirmation, it had instructions that I will get notice for finger printing appt and other documents to be sent.
Really pissed off! Very bad mood today!
Can't the system check for missing information! Even mom & pop online services check for all information before accepting! Anyways, no excuse for me , I should have been careful!
Anyone who got a RFE for missing to information and how long it took after responding to the RFE, Please share your experiences!

Well I dont understand you guys... Why the hell u start cursing... If i was a Devil or what so ever taking a illegal route... I wouldnot have posted this question here but would have gone the route and started the process
Btw before cursing.. at least think twice...
and wat about all those desi who work with consultancy who stay on bench etc etc ... where does Oct 2nd/ gone for them..,..? I am sure people who cursed me were one of them !
