I understand one can apply for adjustment of status on F1, J1 etc. How does it affect your J1 status? I know someone who is on J1 visiting student and considering applying for I-485 as a dependent. Will it adversely affect their adjustment of status application/EAD/AP. Or, will it invalidate their J1.
Request you to please respond as my understanding is limited.

I think was just in anxiety !!!. My wife recieved FP notice around 5 days after I recieved. We both have appointment on same day and same time.
So bottom line even though it is frustrating , I think the best solution is to just wait :)

Talk to employer and tell him to your wages immediately. You shouldn't care about client or any one else. If you left the company then he should pay you withing 15 days. If he says he will pay after two months 3 months then he will just changed his address and you wont be able to track him down.
So talk to him and tell him if you dont receive a check in 1 week you will file a complaint in DOL wages and service division and also file a lawsuit in court too.

Be wise. When we talk about whether we use MS+2 or BS+5, it doesn't mean we tailor the requirements. It's the issue of which is more important, the academic studies or the working experience.

If you were an employer sponsoring someone's Greencard, you would first write down the job decription and then decide if it falls under EB2 or EB3, not the other way around.

I have H1 approval I-797 with me (received in last year quota) and H4 approval (which was applied before applying H1). Now I have a family emergency back home. I have to travel asap. My current H4 stamp in the passport is expired. So I have to go for stamping, either it be using H1 or using H4. Since I am unemployed at present I can't use H1 for stamping. If I come back on H4, what will happen to my H1 status? Will it be still valid to accept an employment or becomes void.
Please share your thoughts...

Hi,
I am on H1B visa. My parents due to a medical condition cannot take care of themselves. They need someone to be present with them 24 hrs a day. Can I get them on H4 visa as dependent? I would like to keep them for 2-3 years in US and take care of them. Please let me know my options.

Before i stayed in place "X " which comes under nebrasaka centre, applied for 485, ead and ap. my company also in " X " only.
Right now i am in place " Y " which comes under Texas centre ( because of my job i moved recently) . Now i want to renew my ead and ap my self . my job, payroll and living is in place " Y " only.
But my pemanent address is " X " only. I want to continue that for my full GC process.
what my question is what i have to mention the address for my ead and ap renewal ?
1) is it "X " address as it is my permanent address and applied my 485 also from there and wish to continue or my "Y " address as i am working , living and payroll are here ?
2) If i mention " X " address is there any problem ? , dont think wrongly as i really dont know
3) if i put " Y " address is my case ead and ap along with 485 will move to Texas centre ?

Since I did my master's here. I think they filed my case under EB1...I need to re-check. If this is the case then how long does it take. Yes I'm an indian.
I doubt if a Masters qualifies for EB1. But if you filed under EB1, then you should be able to file I485 immediately as that category is CURRENT. Check and confirm the category your employers filed and post your question again.

Since my current EAD is expiring Sep 10th, I'm planning to go to the local USCIS office for an interim EAD in first week of Sep.
What is the procedure, do i need to take infopass or any other apoointment or just walk in with papers ?
It's not yet been 90 days since i filed, but i still want to give it a shot. I plan to take a letter from my employer saying without interim EAD (without me being able to work) company would face a setback in a critical phase of project.
I also plan to use such a letter in support of an expedite request.
Gurus please advice:
- How soon should I fax expedite request?
- How soon/late should i go to local USCIS office for interim EAD?
- Could one interfere the other?
