Bertrand Serlet (Apple)
Apple today announced (http://www.apple.com/pr/library/2011/03/23serlet.html) that Bertrand Serlet, senior vice president of Mac Software Engineering, will be departing the company in order to "focus less on products and more on science", although his specific destination remains unknown. Serlet joined Steve Jobs at NeXT in 1989, and transitioned to Apple in 1997 when NeXT was acquired and Jobs brought back to lead Apple."I've worked with Steve for 22 years and have had an incredible time developing products at both NeXT and Apple, but at this point, I want to focus less on products and more on science," said Bertrand Serlet, Apple's senior vice president of Software Engineering.

Serlet will be replaced by Craig Federighi, currently Apple's vice president of Mac Software Engineering and who has led Mac OS X engineering for the past two years. Federighi is another former NeXT and Apple employee who spent ten years at Ariba before returning to Apple in 2009. Serlet notes that the transition should be seamless given Federighi's role in leading the current Mac OS X team."Craig has done a great job managing the Mac OS team for the past two years, Lion is a great release and the transition should be seamless."Serlet has occasionally appeared at Apple keynote and media events over the years to introduce Mac OS X-related features, and thus well known to longtime Apple followers. OK, so I was surfing macbytes and found an article about had to install a trackpad into your iBook *bad idea* So I deleted my AppleADBMouse.kext and replaced it with the trackpad one. I reset and it says it was installed improperly and I can't use my mouse. How do I install this properly and could someone upload another AppleADBMouse.kext for me. It would be a huge help.

i just bought it and i like it over all. a couple things i don't like are that i cant use the chat bubbles theme and that there is no way to set the near by distance feature:(

I hate AT&T with a passion. Yet, I'd never switch to Verizon because I'm hooked on 3Mbps + speeds. They're the crack of carriers.
AT&T is the worst company I have ever had. We dropped them 6+ years ago for a reason. They always tried to get away with charging a little extra on the bill.. Your a bajillion dollar company and you have to scam people out of extra money? Rot in HELL!

I am looking to use (2) Airport Expresses going to a multi zone amplifier to power (2) sets of speakers in the yard. Is it possible to use the AirPlay feature from the iPod Touch to send audio to both the Expresses at the same time so they are synced? I figure this way I would get audio level control to both zones on the iTouch.

I used to use FCP I found it to be overly complicated to do simple tasks. I manly focus on print design so I have not used it for several years.
Recently I have had to make several projects and I found that Premier CS5 was actually a very strong video editing package. It runs smooth, has a clean Adobe interface and everything worked out great.
While I like CS5, I absolutely hate Adobe due to their ultra crappy Indian based tech support. If you buy $10,000 worth of software from a company you don't expect them to charge you $39 just to talk to a person who is getting paid $1 per hour to read a script.

As of this posting, MacRumors cannot independently verify the claims, however the blogger posts multiple video clips of the features. The blogger highlights the following features:
Tabbed Browsing Enhancements
Following the lead of other browsers, Apple has implemented a customizable tab-bar so that users can re-order tabs via drag-and-drop. Apple has also extended the concept to be able to make a window from a tab by dragging a tab off of the tab bar.
Search Improvements
The Safari search option is now integrated into the browser window much like Firefox's implementation. However search results are displayed all at once by default rather than Firefox's one-at-a-time approach.
Resizable TEXTAREAs
Safari will allow the user to resize a text area (via a drag corner) in an HTML form and dynamically redraw the web page to fit the new size.
Leopard was previewed (http://www.macrumors.com/pages/2006/08/20060807161421.shtml) at this year's Worldwide Developer Conference, and should ship next spring.

That is a nice step in the right direction. I would like to see more practical
productivity apps on the iOS platform, but even for on the go conceptual work, this is still pretty much useless for my studio. Needs precision and the touch interface is not the answer. Bring a pen/stylus or similar device to the mix and then we'll talk.

This is a great offer. But how about unlimited calls to any states in the US? I think it would be very good for a subscriber who wants to call anywhere in the US. thanks.
AT&T's cellular plans are already nationwide. Unless of course you want unlimited international plans which I don't think are ever going to happen.

Some people need to chill out. If your 3GS (or whatever) is getting old and you need a new phone, then go and get one. Why are you waiting if your phone needs to be replaced? Either you can wait for the new iPhone or you can't. It will come out when Apple are good and ready to release it. They owe us nothing and have never made any official annoucements regarding the release date for the new iPhone.
Bottom line is this: you have two choices...
1) If you're not happy with waiting for the iPhone 5, then there are plenty of other phones to choose from. Vote with your feet.
2) If you want to stick with Apple, then stop complaining and just wait.

I left carbon copy cloner running all night to make the bootable copy.
I was a little bit worried about leaving all night as I could not watch the temps. I guess I'm just a bit worried I may have screwed up the thermal paste. But no, it survived showing 52deg when I checked this morning.

Honestly I would have been flattered if asked. But like LBJ, if nominated I would not run, if elected I would not serve (at least at this point). For as evident by my posts over the past few days, my new job and new outlook as to what I find important has changed. In the end I think that active members like myself also serve a purpose, as much as those that are in a mod status.
I am glad that we have a couple EU members as mods in some degree.

You will only loose your rollover minutes if you switch plan types. Example from Family Talk to a single line plan. Changing minutes will not effect your roll over minutes.
