Recently, I made my own PP photos using http://www.epassportphoto.com/
This is a great service - It creates a jpeg file from a picture that you upload, and you can choose the "free" option in which you can save the jpeg file with 4-6 pictures in one frame (A 4" x 6" photo can yield 6 pp photos of 2" x 2"), and take it to Walgreens/Costco/Kinkos for a printout for $0.25 each. Otherwise you pay about $8-$12 for 2 photos at the same stores!!
For a family of 4, this equates to savings of ~ $40!!!
The site has all the tools for meeting various types of visa/pp/etc photo requirements for various countries.

Now that most of the cases that have LUD on their I-140 got or getting approvals, I want to track how many of you guys have an LUD on 07/13/2008. If you have any other LUD on your I-140, please post them.
Besides LUD on my approved I-140 on 7/13/08 (approved in 2/06), there were LUDS on H1B(approved 3/03, extended 9/05) on 6/28/08 and LUDs on I-485 (filed on 07/02/07) dt 5/23, 6/18, 6/25/08. Anybody seen recent LUDs on I-140+I485+I-129 BTW my pd is 10/05, EB2i Still waiting for magic mail. May lady luck smile on us.

My I-485 priority dat is current ( EB3 - INDAI, priority date mid July 2002 ). I have filed I-485 in JUly 2003. I called customer service for status enquiry on 5/15/2007, today i got letter in that they mensioned that "Your application is under additional review" due to this processing is getting delayed. If you don't receive response in 180 days, call customer service.
Do any one got this kind of reply?
Previously i called customer service for status enquiry in Nov 2006 and got email that "Your application is awaiting for officer review", Service waiting for visa availability.After this message, why i got the new message like above.

This week the AFL-CIO Committee on Immigration adopted one of the most innovative and progressive frameworks for achieving real comprehensive immigration reform. As it stands today, our immigration system is nothing more than a blueprint for exploitation of both foreign and native-born workers. Overhaul of our nation's broken immigration laws is long overdue.
We believe that America deserves a more just and democratic immigration system that protects the interests of ALL workers within our borders-immigrants and U.S.-born workers alike.
It's a tragedy that instead of advocating for permanent relief to the millions of undocumented workers already in this country, paying taxes and contributing to their communities, our nation's leaders continue to push for the same old hollow policies that if enacted will only drive immigrants further into the shadows of American society while allowing employers to depress labor protections and standards for ALL workers within our borders.
Instead of comprehensive reform, many of our leaders continue to look to outdated temporary guestworker programs as a cure-all solution. Real immigration reform cannot and should not be designed primarily to enlarge guestworker programs that have served only to provide greedy employers with a steady stream of vulnerable, indentured workers they may exploit for commercial gain.
This week AFL-CIO unions have voted on a landmark resolution that breaks away from this oppressive guestworker mold and offers a more just and viable solution that will benefit all workers. To be effective, comprehensive immigration reform must include three key, interdependent goals: 1) reform proposals MUST provide a clear and well-defined path to permanent residency for those workers already here and contributing to their communities 2) our laws must include uniform enforcement of workplace standards to ensure a more just and level playing field and 3) to achieve a blanket standard of workplace right, we MUST reject outdated guestworker constructs that by their very nature harm the interests of foreign and U.S born workers alike.
The horrific abuses suffered by workers in the first such program, the post -World War II bracero program, are well documented and indisputable. And although most people like to think of bracero programs as a phenomenon of the past, the reality is that their legacy of exploitation and abuse continues to thrive in contemporary American society through modern guestworker programs such as the H1-B and H2-B. I am kind of thinking of getting a template kind of system where in members can involve and put in their thoughts and once an article ( of some interest) reaches to a final stage and gets approved by the majority it would be forwarded to the news papers / Journals.
I am not sure how much time it takes, but let me try out crystallizing the thoughts towards this end.
Would be great, if few people can join me in this endeavor. PM folks/writers who wish to involve themselves in this process.
This is a process that has to evolve and please do not have expectations as to see results right away.

5. My wife has an H1 also, so as she used her EAD(which came as my dependent) not with the company which hold's her H1, in this case what would be the status of her H1, can she quit her present job and do another job using her H1, is that H1 still valid.
I think she is ok to switch to H1 but you all need to go out of US & Enter with that H1B Visa for switching plus she has to work with H1B sponcer employer.
Any way share us output after consulting good attorney.

You should be able to do your landing and H1 stamping with no problem.

Hi everyone,
Today i got an alert form USCIS that the pending 485s (for my wife and myself) have been transferred from NSC to TSC. Wanted to see if others with 485s pending at NSC have seen similar action.
My priority date is Oct 2005 and my 485 has been pending at NSC since July 2007.
Did you move to a different state after filing at NSC ??

Heard back from the attorney - filing after Aug. 17th.
my lawyer says with all this VB backand forth. Technically for those who want 3 yr extension should file after 17th August. Because although the Aug VB is "U", July VB is active for those eligible till 17th..So safer options is 18+

First and foremost, you need to fire attorney for not using his/her reasonable skill of not appropriately matching you to the labor suitable to you.
You need to have second thoughts on your employer/attorney, as their actions resulted loss of precious time and money, more importantly for making you loose EAD and AP, if approved, based on underlying 140 which is now denied.
It could take some more months, before you are able to file for 485 again.
Always trust experienced attorneys, don't make use of 'me too attorneys', who might have faked their resume, like some IT pros do.

Guys....stop getting into wrong conclusions from my question....If you read my question carefully....you will see I started the question as a "case"...so it was a "case scenario" and not a state where my GC was approved.

flush this theory of mine... may be it was just a flook that 9 cases followed a pattern (and i thought i just decoded it LOL)... but this just confirms that applications dont reach Service centers they actually reach a black hole :D
