what we need is a bigger lens forget about MP i tather a 3 o 5 mega pixel with a larger lens and sensor than 8 mp with such a small lens the only thing it will get are extra large crappy images

Obviously, bigger lens is not coming to iPhone for it implies thicker (or non-flat) design which Steve will never approve.

Strange. I could have sworn I'd heard the Rolling Stones weren't on iTunes yet. Personally I HATE them, that's why I never checked.

Any other musicians not in the iTunes music store yet?

Of the big bands, only AC-DC, The Beatles, Frank Zappa and Led Zepplin. Radiohead actually has two songs on iTunes.

Sure there are other bands not there, but these are the main ones missing.

Can you point out any war in history that meets your ivory tower qualifications?

I've always felt that WW2 was justified though the way we ended the war was unfortunate and un-necessary.

I'm also generally in support of intervening to stop genocide/ethnic cleansing.

It's a combination of a nicety, and to keep pace with the others. WP7 and Android based devices have this now, so it only makes sense. I'm sure folks will complain, and poke fun at Apple [e.g. "Magical"]...lol. But, it's a good thing.

If they can do this, add solid notifications, allow some minimal customization, and lastly some form of a "Widget" based system, it'll kill. I personally think the last part is a waste, but that's me. I don't even use the widgets on OSX, and tried them on an Android device. I found it more of an annoyance than anything. But that's just my personal opinion. Some people love them...

I started to see problems with battery after 4.3 update. done a bit of research, ping trick didn't work for me. but restart did. the truth is that i'm not running 20 apps as i used to and cut down to roughly half.

but this update seems to be ok with battery so far. been on 62% for last 3 hours, been browsing and tweeting a bit.

I do hope if they are going to up the megapixelage for marketing purposes, they at least give us more memory in the base configuration to handle all the extra space the photos are gonna waste.

Unless of course Sony has secretly created the greatest sensor in the history of the world and the 8MP can be justified. That would be nice.

8MP would be nice but I hope it's gonna be a good quality sensor as well.

makes sense that they upgrade the 15 and 17 and not the 13, the 13 inch is pretty good as it is, they just need to upgrade the hard drives to 250 and 320gb and the 15 and 17 inch should reach 1TB

The current iPod is 4.1 x 2.4 inches. A mass market paperback -- which ain't big -- is roughy 7.1 x 4.3 inches, which is almost twice as large as an iPod. Most eBook devices are the size of a mass market paperback or larger. Portable DVD/DVR players are also typically larger than the iPod enclosure. I am all for a wide format iPod where the screen is the thing, but I'm not sure I want to read a book (or watch movies) on it if it's going to be the same size as the current iPod enclosure.


...but then, I wouldn't want to listen to my music on a paperback size device... :rolleyes:

There's another temperature monitoring utility, called appropriately enough, Temperature Monitor. I switched to it after CoreDuoTemp was flaking out on me. So far, it's given me pretty reliable readings. Maybe you guys should try that.

I'm pretty sure readings of 15C-19C are incorrect. I've NEVER seen or heard of modern laptop/desktop CPUs running that cool.

The lowest readings I've gotten on my laptop, from memory, would be low to mid 40s. It usually idles at mid-50s.


With regards to "pushing the machine = shutdown"... that's only somewhat true. Making both cores 100% cpu usage has been a way to trigger the random shutdown, but that doesn't make it the cause. I've had plenty of situations where my MacBook was idling and just turned itself off...

I'm curious. Anybody know where all that money goes? How much does Apple (the computer company) get vs. music companies vs. the two remaining Beatles? I heard that Michael Jackson owned the rights to a lot of Beatles songs - and now he's gone too. Any place this can be looked at?

Isn't it only a �30 drop - only done it so that it appears to be under a grand. Its not a significant drop - shame really, because its still so much more than the white one!

It's only �20 more now than a same-spec white one. Cheaper than before I think.
