I just installed it and had to update the firmware on my Nano because i had to format it for windows :( but ill have to reformat it back to mac in less than a week lol

Well, just accentuates the fact that the UK isn't run by a bunch of idiots. Knowing France well, it's appalling the figures being shown there. The french government is a joke, somewhat corrupt and is just a poorly governed country. It seems to me the good people suffer whilst the bad people get away with it, truly despicable.
I know they hospitalise children under 18 for mental illness, the UK doesn't do that and I don't know any other nation which does that. SURELY It's ridiculous for people who aren't even adults to be in mental institutes for weeks and even months? Won't that in fact affect their mental stability by being with other Ill patients?

I guess we'll see the second coming of the ibook shortly. This will probably be a small tablet size. Is it possible to use two different kind of screen technology on the same screen. OLED and TFT. The only thing is that when I was in Japan earlier this year I saw and used the Sony ereader with eInk it was really a very nice device and the screen feels like a paperback book, it isn't true white and doesn't strain the eyes. I guess, this new device is going to use text recognition and voice over, I don't know if this is going to work since Agnes is not really that great wih expressions, but we'll see. I really have no clue how this is going to pan out, I really would rather have Apple release a gread digital video camera with HD/HD but they have some sort of deal with sony or panasonic that they won't what gives!!!!
At this point, I hope they split the iPod line into iPods (music / video) and iBooks (music, ebooks).

The real promise of the Sony and Royal (?) readers is the eInk. Looking at eInk displays, you get the true white with no eye strain (you have to be told that is not a sticker of the screen it is an actual image on the screen). The power consumption is measured in pages (it has to redraw, not refresh like an LCD). There is a color version, but it doesn't look as developed. All this is perfect for books, but would not work for video. This would seem to be a real problem with an all in one unit. You could allow reading on the LCD, but it would be a pain.
Since Apple just freed up a great trademark, come out with an iBook ebook reader. Allow it to play music, but not video. Make it paperback size with a good interface / spotlight search / bookmarks. Use the standard iPod cord and iTunes. Allow it to read PDF, RTF, DOC, HTML, Text and whatever format Apple uses for the DRM version. Get a lot of textbook companies to sell their books on it and replace a lot of backpacks. A color version would be better so you could get comics / anime.

JScript is not only for IE. It's used in scripting. JScript.NET isn't for IE anyways. It's a scripting language that can be compiled into .NET MSIL CLR.

How much RAM does Windows want to burn a cd, while watching a QT stream, while editing text, while compiling, with people banging on your Apache server, and iSyncing your iPod, as well as browsing, with a cron job running, while your other optical drive is ripping MP3s?
In my experience, Windows used to beat a Mac senseless in multi tasking, and now the reverse is true...could be me just doing too much though...
Then you're doing something wrong. Try out Windows XP. Very destructive BSODs, like what? I've only had one about win32k.sys, but that was a memory corruption issue that I quickly solved. Windows XP is absolutely STABLE here.
Having gone a few months without one (feverishly knock on wooden desk), I don't know off the top of my head what they are. However, I know at least 4 times in 12 months I've had my Win2k partition go south...way south.
I know my Win2k serial by heart (looks down in shame).

Having gone a few months without one (feverishly knock on wooden desk), I don't know off the top of my head what they are. However, I know at least 4 times in 12 months I've had my Win2k partition go south...way south.
I know my Win2k serial by heart (looks down in shame).
Again, I'm responding based on things I've experienced and things I've read, and sometimes (C#) something gets replaced inthe memory array. If you're happy where you are, run with it, but don't expect me not to defend my platform of (informed) choice here at macrumors.com.

If it were glasses-less 3d... wouldn't it need a retina display at 240hz? 120fps for each eye? Someone please correct me if I'm wrong!

Anyone have experience with this chair? The price is great and I like the design. Not sure about ergonomics and durability though.
Great reviews on it from another website. Don't know it at the moment, have to do a deeper google search to find it.
I was about to buy it but it went out of stock and whenever it gets back in stock I won't have the money. It makes me plan angry.

I have 3 USB 1 ports and 2 FireWire ports. Does that mean if I buy a new 8Gb Nano, it won't work with my system? :(

No more PowerBook. Love the new Mac Mini, I would put in an SSD, but they're still too expensive, and I really don't need one. Its extremely quiet anyway.

I like the idea of The Beatles catalog being available on iTunes, but for me, I'd be most interested in getting CD's of the remastered music so I can rip at my preferred bit rate. :)

Switched to macs back in 2001 and while I love the OS I have had a continuous stream of hardware problems with all apple products I have bought:
iBook G3: logic board died and replaced 3 times
iMac G5: CPU got so hot the machine almost melted! So far I have had the logic board replaced 3 times.
MacBook: Random shutdown syndrome, faulty mouse and track pad, palm rest discoloration. Currently in for repair again!
iPod: hard disk and battery both died
EDIT: and don't get me started about the abomination that is the so called mighty mouse. The thing barely lasted a week!
Apple have really got to get there quality control sorted out. So what if the OS is great if the continual hardware faults mean you can't actually use the damn thing!

There is also a mode that Bungie created called "Gruntpocalypse" where it is nothing but waves and waves of Grunts, with the "Grunt Birthday Party" skull turned on. It sounds very basic, but killing hundreds of Grunts, the confetti popping out of their heads, and hearing the kids cheer YAAAAYY every time you headshot them just never gets old. :D
