I think Apple really got it right with the iPad. The main focus won't be USB, SD card slot, HDMI or anything else like that. They have solutions for "connectivity" already. Even if it isn't your preferred solution, they won't go back and do it in a way they don't figure is the ideal way. If they eventually want to allow the additions of mice, printers, cameras, Apple would much rather all that stuff is done through Bluetooth, RFID, or WiFi.

I will never buy an AMD computer again, especially in a laptop. AMDs are very hot processors and they require big fans(I learn that from my bro's Compaq), which make them thick and heavy.

Doubt it. WWDC people can pay to get a seat - it's how it works. This event is a media only invite thing. I suspect that the guys at MacRumors aren't high on Apple's invite list. :-)

As much as I like google as a company, as with everything they start I'm sure they will never finish this. I've come to believe google is incapable of releasing a complete, polished project. But maybe I'm just bitter since I own a 40" google tv that is virtually incapable of doing anything worth doing on a tv.

Google hardly every leaves anything stable long enough, its always just about to be finished, always in beta. They always put a disclaimer and never accept any responsibility, hey its just beta use at your own risk.
Google is great and have to be admired just that I wouldn't use them for anything other than adsense or searching the internet

I do , I have 140Gb of Photos from my DSLR (and previous digital cameras) putting this on 3 discs rather than 40 discs would be great
I also have 28Gb of music, backing up form itunes to 1 disc rather than 8 would also be useful

When I was in college years ago I use to work at Circuit City, Black Friday, or any major launch of a product the registers were always a mess or came up short. If you were not very smart or had terrible sales skills they placed you as a cashier, if they could pinpoint it the person usually got chilled out by the manager. Hate to say it but good service is gone, and Best Buy has become one of the last of the big box stores, with a majority of not so knowledgeable staff, and ripping people off with there crappy warranties and overpriced products. It's always a last resort in my book if you absolutely must have something that minute and it's your only option.
All I heard is "I'm trying to justify this to myself and get the forum to make me feel okay about the ****** thing I did that is weighing on my conscience."

I was once in your position. I returned an item and the woman returned $100 more than what she owed me. I went to the car, thought about it for a minute, went back in, and gave the money back. Let me give you a REAL scenario. I used to use my laptop backpack to carry my lunch to work and I was at the airport heading out of town. What I didn't know is that one of my butter knives had slid down under the lining of the backpack. Of course I went in security and was pulled to the side where I was professionally patted down. They then pulled me off to the side to further inspect the bag. I told them the story and they allowed me to slip it in an envelope to mail it home.
1. It worked as they did catch a potential weapon.
2. They were profesional about it the entire time (Boston TSA).
3. If you cooperate with them it is generally no big deal.
People that are making this difficult simply like to complain for the sake of complaining. Take the bus....

Please explain to me what my guns and my doctor have in common....
The NRA. I am a member, have been a member for over 20 years and am proud that there is an organization that exists to fight for my right to own firearms. I don't agree with them 100% of the time, and at times have been disappointed in them, but am glad they exist.
Also, 99.9% of the doctors I have been to ask questions that are pertinent ONLY to the reason I am there for a visit.
so you're in agreement with the NRA in supporting this law saying doctors should be prevented from asking about guns, and possibly loose their medical license if they do ask?? :confused:

Much quicker update than the last one for me.
I think the realistic minimal RAM requirements will move to 4GB with Lion. Installing on an older MacBook with 2GB of RAM has proven that Lion loves RAM and Beachballs :) .
It is fairly stable for a "Beta/Preview" build though and seems to be closer to being ready to ship.

for the things you mentioned you should replace the word 'envy' with 'jealously' :)
I've bought the first iPhone and have never gone back. I totally understand your situation lol, it comes with owning any luxury item. Usually its people who've never owned it themself that go bashing it. I personally haven't had as much encounters but I have friends who get harassed constantly lol.
The antennagate thing is the classic example of a non-user/owner reading some silly article and gripping it for every attack. None of my friends or myself use a case and we have absolutely no reception issues.
The funniest case was my friends colleague attacking him, saying it was the worse phone ever, most overpriced phone ever, its heavy! it has no flash! His Xperia X10 was miles better! Week later he buys his own iPhone 4 and stayed quiet about the topic. I rest my case.
On a positive note, I always get good encounters with the girls at work about iPhones lol.

But I know a lot of people who feel alienated by Mac for two main reasons - one, the macdroids. Nobody wants to join that club. Two, Apple's infantile and insulting marketing. Slagging the competition is as low as anyone can sink. I've seen pimps with more dignified advertising methods than that. "Hello I'm a Mac / ...and I'm a PC, blah blah". Don't they realize how bad of an idea it is to brandish 97% of the world's computer users as complete idiots? They might as well say "Hello. This is not going to happen. I don't see how it fits in with anything. Maybe an LTE next round (6th Generation). Plus I just bought my iPhone, switched from Verizon. I wouldn't want to believe that this would be true as I was unable to wait and see!
