Strange, because everyone said that Apple would release the MB and MBPs on the 12th, but not all of a sudden it shifted to the iMac :confused:
iMacs are overdue. Sure if they can put the C2D in the MBPs great, but the iMacs got the G5 when the PBs only had the G4, so moving to a C2D should not be held back now its out.

Until Adobe can get FLASH working properly on Macs, why the hell would I want it on my damn phone?
On Macs, FLASH causes Safari 4 to crash often, is slow and downright buggy.
Some sites work fine, others crash the browser, often a reboot is required to get a Flash site working after a crash. This is all completely unacceptable in my opinion.
If your teenager crashed one of your cars, why the hell would you immediately give him the keys to another one?

There is a link to a disk image at "http://developer.apple.com/tools/download/", but when I click on it I am asked for my ADC member password, and on the next page there is no trace of Xcode 2.4. Only a link to XCode 2.3 download. Maybe they just got the name wrong, but I won't download 915 MB to find out.
Since it is a large download Apple is doing a staggered roll out of the download (Apple folks stated this). It appears to be rolled to premier members, then select, and finally free members.

After reading this article (http://gizmodo.com/343246/what-to-expect-at-macworld-2008-and-why-we-think-it-will-bigger-than-usual) I think that it's entirely possible that Apple are altering their branding. Also the lack of an Apple logo could be explained by the fact that everyone at the expo would recognise it as them anyway and it adds to the air of secrecy and mystery that they love to use in their marketing.

It's evil because it suggests that both Foxcomm and the titans of Silicon Valley have found another exploitable source of cheap, desperately poor labor 'just in case' something happens in China--say a major earthquake like that in Japan or moves to throw out China's aging dictatorship much like that now taking place in the Middle East. As already been posted, if you fall in the right # but says it won't be accepted... WAIT!!!! Apple has already sayed that its website is bogged down...so WAIT a day or two. Secondly, for those of you that are changing your "A" to "B" or "C", did you ever think that you might be taking someone elses valid serial # and are taking their battery away from them??? Just wait, not everyone has to put in their replacement request w/in 5 hours of it coming out... just chil out a day or two... seriously it's not gona go blow up on in you if u wait an extra 48 hours.

Wow! This is huge news. It looks like Siri is Apple's entry into the Search business. I'm sure the boys at Google aren't happy as I'm guessing this will be the first real competition for them since the great firewall in China started blocking them. I can't wait until WWDC this Summer for Apple to present it. :)

IMO: Apple will introduce incremental updates. iOS is based on UNIX like OS X. There should be no deal in upgrading binaries and libraries. Other unix and linux distros do this for years.
Incremental updates will simplify jailbreaking. A jailbroken device can decide on its own which updates to fetch und which parts (that break the jailbreak) to leave on the server.
Over here in Germany we have good data plans with 5GB/month with really good HSDPA coverage with up to 21mbit/s . I personally can't understand why apple still requires wifi for bigger apps.

Cost aside for the moment, it's Microsoft's decision to sell such a bewildering number of versions that I find so remarkable. I think it says a lot about Microsoft that they can't seem to settle on one implementation of Windows that would suit all users equally well. Apple has seen to it that the Mac is a Mac. Windows is now like a half-dozen vaguely different things, depending. Another level of confusion, introduced deliberately.

Wow, this is great news, I'm impressed - I never saw a 24" iMac in the cards!
And, since it's Merom, this makes the likelihood of seeing a Conroe minitower even better - after all, Apple has to stick the Conroe chip in something, right? ;) :D As it stands now, since Merom is technically the "mobile chip", Apple has 5 mobile solutions (2 mobile MB/MBPs, 3 not-so-mobile iMacs) and a workstation solution (Mac Pro), so where is the desktop solution? :p :cool:

And then -- I can't figure out what you're talking about. I have no problems listening to any Beatles albums in Stereo. They're perhaps wider stereo soundstages than you'd find today (where albums mostly play the same GD thing out of both channels) -- but that makes them sonically interesting, not unlistenable.
I think what is being referenced is what used to be called "ping-pong stereo," the very wide and complete separation of channels -- which in the Beatles catalog is heard mainly on the Rubber Soul and Revolver albums, the two best they ever made IMO. I'm not a huge Beatles fan, but mess with these recordings at your peril!
