Mac OS X has only the ease of use while people need huge amounts of RAM on a lower end Mac to run it at least fast enough. Windows XP is usable on a Pentium II 233MHz with 128MB RAM just fine. Windows XP has less BSODs these days, but when they do occur, it's usually memory corruption. That's what you get for not using top notch RAM. I've had people who have gotten kernel panics as much as BSODs. Myself, I haven't gotten a single BSOD since my install of Windows XP except when I overclocked my CPU, but that's not XP's fault. XP even ran when Linux wouldn't boot with 1400MHz@1522MHz.
By the way, the PC is not Windows. Windows is an operating system. The PC is a collection of computer components independent from OSes. So don't dare to say PCs are catching up in stability--they're already friggin' stable.

Being a Brazilian I can easily say that not only import taxes are high here - hiring people is one hell of an expensive move too. It`s actually one of the big reasons why lots of companies do not have factories here! Most of them go to China - that`s where production is cheap.
Even if Foxconn decides to pay the minimun wage here, there`s still so many taxes, fees and other stuff that they`ll have to pay for the workers that I find it hard for it to be good at all for either Apple or Fox.
So.. if you were waiting for this move to reduce the prices on :apple: gadgets, keep waiting.. because it`s more likely they will raise it even more :p

Please don't tell me that anyone that actually needs the CS apps can't plunk down $450-$1000 for the EDU version, but will shell out $3000 for an overpriced Mac Pro?

Of course, the support web site serial numbers on the batteries "no not validate" even though they are within the ranges, and the phone line is busy (probably forever).
My opinion: for anyone who bought an Apple batter from the Apple Store (online), Apple should be required to have kept the serial numbers and contact information and then NOTIFY US rather than having me waste my time trying to get through and endlessly waiting on the phone or endure a faulty web site. Such practice on Apple's part will cause many to just give up and live with a potential fire hazard. :D

This is not an empty threat. Wal-Mart pushes around vendors like this all the time. In the end Companies want to sell their product and unfortunately Wal-Mart is the largest brick and mortar distributers. For those of you who are saying "Ban Wal-Mart", ask yourselves how many "Community X keeps Wal-Mart out" success stories have you heard of? :(

Eh, you misunderstood me. The main point I was making is that the wife should not be able to prevent such a purchase IF THEY CAN AFFORD IT. In many cases, money itself is not an issue in such a purchase, as the wife would not blink twice in spending that amount on something SHE wants. My point was that sometimes they refuse things simply because they dont see it benefitting THEM- and that is something selfish, and shows a lack of respect. Of course if the guy is blowing $$ on an iPad when they're having trouble putting food on the table, thats an issue. My post wasnt centered on these cases. It made the assumption that it could comfortably be afforded, but which the wife doesnt see the value in it for herself, which is the sole reason of the refusal or the demand that it be returned. And Ive seen this on many, many occasions. I know this guy that brings in 6 figures a yr, yes his wife (who brings in nothing) controls the bank account. The guy has no balls, his wife dictates the purchases, buys whatever the hell she pleases, and gets upset when he spends on anything without consulting her. She doesnt let him buy **** he wants, the cost of which is a drop in the bucket compared to the income he makes, simply because SHE doesnt see the value in it. But like I said, the guy has no balls and takes it, while she spends thousands on shoes, etc without needing to consult him.But hey, some people love that ****. Sometimes you need to do things that give you individual pleasure in a marriage, not always 'pleasure as a unit'.

This almost requires that iCloud be a free service for iOS users. A back up is prudent for any OS upgrade so having all or nearly all of your phone's personal data backed up or exclusively stored in the cloud would be a system that would allow iOS devices not have to rely on an iTunes direct link.

Ah - but it isn't as many as 50 % of the gun crimes that are done by black men. This is just racist propaganda from a statistics-generator which has been pre-programmed to disfavour people with non-English names. The next statement will probably be that more than half of the honour killings in the United Kingdom are done by people from Pakistan or Arab countries, which will be just as absurd. In some cultures, it's acceptable (or even expected) to use violence to get what one wants, and we have to tolerate each other as we are. Dialogue and Understanding.
But culture is not above the law of the country you are currently in. If you use violence to get your on way in a country which has zero tolerance of it, you should be punished in accordance with those laws.
In regard to the Aunt Jemima/Uncle Ben thing. I would be willing to say that most Black people in the UK don't know these brands were formed from slave based stereotypes. I'd also say that these people aren't positive black role models. I'd say Condaleeza Rice and Barack Obama would be much better role models than stylized remnants of a time when slavery was seen as being ok in the Southern States.
Also, with kids not able to get into college in the US, my fianc�e used to work for an organization which helped minority kids prepare for and get into colleges. She found that Black males were more likely to get free rides than black females, some of the boys had awful back stories with little male positive role models but with the right encouragement for them, they were able to do well through school and get into colleges. Unfortunately not enough people are willing to put their time and effort into this. I would love to volunteer in the future and help kids in the area I'll be living in get into college, but I'm afraid with my background (white british/irish and british accent) it would be hard for the boys to relate to me. It is something I'd love to try though, hopefully introducing rugby in the area too, a game which has the 'positive' aspects of being in a gang, but none of the negative ones.
Another thing, gun ownership in the UK is very rare. So the fact that gangs which unfortunately have a make up (proportionally in London) of Black, Turkish, Kurdish and White boys means that gang members are more likely to be carrying weapons than other members of the population. In Manchester and Liverpool it's different with poor white kids from council estates being the main issue.
I think papers like the Telegraph and to a much higher degree, The Daily Mail, like to sensationalise statistics like this. Unfortunately they should be doing more to find ways of helping people rather than perpetuate the stereotypes and generate fear.

The internet has no country lines; you arn't racist, but you may possibly be unsensitive to the enviorment in which you are speaking as there are a lot of people who would like to learn the spanish language outside the United States.
Additionally, please remember that although America's most commonly spoken language is English (or several varients of true English), there is no official national language in the United States. The easiest way to make sure that the U.S. stays mainly english (if you want it to) is by simply refusing to do otherwise. It all depends what you want to do in Vegas. If you're wanting to go to restaurants, shows, and/or spa then $1500 is plenty for a few nights of that and you'll have some left over for quarter VP/slots. If you're wanting to go to the club and buy 4 bottles every night...then $1500 isn't going to get you very far.

The spontanity is lost once 2 people need to remove their Zunes from their pockets, go through a few menus, and then send a song over wireless. THEN listen to it. ALONE.

And if they like it, then grab it and let them play it for X amount of times or days. More of a PULL technology.
Still, just sharing earbuds is more social, but if you had broadcasting on an iPod or Zune, that would make more sense, at least to me....

Not interested in this. It's not really any more convenient to do this OTA. Just plug your phone in for 10 mins and install it in the evening. I could maybe see this working over Wi-Fi but for a lot of places this would destroy peoples data caps.

Now they have "Toys" for grown-ups too.

Didn't think iPad had uses as an adult toy and they sold those at Toys r us :D
