What did they ban and why?
They banned songs like Lucy in the Sky and Ticket to Ride... (not to mention Metallica's Seek and Destroy) because the songs reminded people of the event.

The moral of the story is that to hack OS X you have to focus your effort on the closed-source software that's in there.
Everybody thinks Macs are safe because Darwin is open source, tried and tested. But we forget about all the closed-source software that is running with elevated privileges.
Or the hardware exploits... Been down hill since Intel... X86 hardware exploits likely on the way

yeah guys, cuz these arent old problems that have already been solved -- do you pay for calls to AT&T (or verizon) via your handset when you dial 411 (or whatever it is)? no. you dont.
so even if its not wifi-only, what makes you think they wouldnt apply the same sort of policy? support data is free.

I just upgraded to CS5 a few months ago for $600. The 5.5 upgrade would cost another $400. Adobe is easily my least favorite company in the world.
Just like an iPhone, you really want to get it at (or soon after) release to get the max "value" before it gets superseded!

Damn, album artwork doesn't work in my country. I'm from Latvia (in Europe, just in case) and iTunes is not available here. So, just for getting album artwork, you'll need an account in iTunes, I've tried to make one, but iTunes ignore my credit card, cause it's not registered in US (or other available countries) Really want to use this feature. Maybe someone know what can I do... Thanks in advance

Flash doesn't just stink on Macs...I avoid Flash websites like the plague on my windows box because it slows the machine down to a crawl. Granted, it's a Pentium 4, but still it sucks. On my Mac, I only notice > 50% processor time being used by flash when viewing HD vids at YouTube. Still annoying, though. Wake up, Adobe!

I'll call BS on that.
Apple does not design their own batteries. The casing perhaps, but not the core.
They spec them to a vendor. Then vendor does the actual design work.
Pretty cool video here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UFj9vbYedwc&feature=player_embedded#at=13) showing the design and manufacturing of the 17" MacBook Pro battery.

But you know Apple's got a WiFi iPod in the works, and then the statement on WiFi will be that it's "indispensable." Love that guy.
...Same with the true video iPod as well. And we'll probably get one of those once they can squeeze it into a size of the 5G iPod for the same price and have the entire face of the thing be a 16:9 touch-screen with at least 864x480 resolution.

You can save a little money by buying the box set on CD from Amazon, but then your music is in that old-fashioned "hard-copy" format so you have to rip the music to iTunes! :)
Amazon also sells the mono collection, which I've been contemplating but haven't yet purchased.

Shoot, they took away the ability to "Upload checked episodes" for podcasts. If I listen to half an episode and then plug my iPod in, it will sync that podcast off my pod, even if I wanted to listen to the second half later. I have to go back to the podcast directory and "Mark as Unplayed" the podcast to get it back.

My download was nearly finished and iTunes come up with a "download error" and I've had to start from the beginning again.
Oh hi, I just started mine and it said "Do you want to take N10248's download?" And then I clicked on "Ok". Sorry dude...

I've done it on two 5.5g iPods. The problem is iTunesDB on the iPod breaks down when you get to around 33,000 songs (and Rockbox doesn't do any better). Nobody really gets it right anyway, I bought a 500 gb Android Tablet (Archos 5) and it too breaks down around 33,000 songs.
It sounds like you're hitting a limit at 32,768. That makes sense, since Int16 can only store numbers up to 32,768 (15 bits plus a sign bit) and Apple engineers probably figured that should be more than enough.;)

I've noticed many blu ray disks now come with digital copies. I prefer that. One even had a survey asking how important the digital copy was. So perhaps this will be a nice combination for a while.
I ended up getting a PS3 for the blu ray player. For a while it got most usage as a netflix player. Now the appleTV handles that. So occasionally it gets used now for blu ray. I still do not own any games for it. Someday when I have time for it I'll get a game or two.
Yeah, Blu Ray players are pretty useless because of the PS3, which is usually cheaper and can play Blu Ray anyway. Of course, my dad got a Blu Ray player before I could say anything
And I think the digital copy is useless because of Netflix, which can just stream it. The internet is the future for now, not discs.

Didn't I tell you yes yesterday? Just buy a copy of Toast 7 for full support. You can also run multiple copioes of Taost 7 on one Mac. I run up to 4 or 5 simultaneously sometimes on my Quad G5 writing DVD Images to multiple HDs.
Well, I think you said "maybe," but it's all good now. I will put the Plextor DVD-RW Drive in the bottom bay. Question though, I have Toast 7 for Power PC, but will it work alright under rosetta, or do I have to buy a Universal Binary?

Monday is a civic holiday for me and my fellow Canadians.... I might check out the Apple store at the Eaton's Centre to 1) see if they are open, and 2) to see if they'll be broadcasting the keynote live! :)
The iPhone pictures to me look like a photoshop hack of a nano, I just got a SLVR myself a few months ago, but I'll be curious to see what the iPhone features are when(if?) it comes out at the WWDC.
haha yaaa yoo lmaoo
im canadian and im soo gonna check out the apple store, but yorkdale one.

You forgot to mention the price difference too.... Yeah they both have their advantages and disadvantages, but if I were to get a computer right now, I would get a PC. It is because I can find a 2.8 GHz PC for half the price of a 1.25 (2x) pMac. Luckily for apple, I am waiting, because I trust apple to release something revolutionary within a year from now. ::::coug:::: GPUL ::::cough::::.. :D

Let's see here, they sell 40% of all DVD sales and they lose on them, and somehow losing those sales costs them money? Sounds like they have a plan themselves and are keeping the competitors at bay while they gestate it.

300ppi iPad will be hands down better than 3D functionality. Also, can it do so without glasses (already done) + at the viewing angles currently being supported by Apple's IPS displays (dont think so)?

I think I would want a retina display first. I'd rather wait for battery technology to improve before having an iPad with a shorter battery than my ipad 2.

How is Apple's application approval process any different from what Microsoft, Nintendo, or Sony do with their game consoles? Why doesn't anyone seem to care about open development for those platforms?
