Let's just wait to see how long it will take for Apple to supply an update to fix this problem. I'm betting it won't take long.
Edit: seems it's already fixed.
Edit 2: It's a USB wireless card hack? Oh wow, ALL THE MACBOOK USERS ARE IN DANGER! RUN AWAY!
Edit 3: in other news, putting your Macbook in the oven at 300 celcius for 5 hours WILL BURN IT! APPLE HARDWARE IS FLAWED!

ThinkSecret is generally dead on when it comes to things like this. So, it'd be great if they released an updated 23" iMac. I just got a 5G iPod 30GB in July and am happy with it so I don't need a new 'pod. And yes, I just got a new MacBook 2 weeks ago, but for future purchases, a 23" iMac would be neat.

This is morally and most likely legally wrong for Wal-Mart to do. Not that either of those are new to the folks running Wal-Mart.
I seem to remember a different sentiment on these forums when it was announced Wal-Mart would start selling iPods. People who said Wal-Mart was a bad corporate citizen were called naive, were told that that's how business is done, long live the invisible hand of capitalism, etc.
Now that Wal-Mart is trying to squash Apple's move into the movie arena, I see some people have come around. And with the sort of success iTunes seems to be having with movies so far, there just may be some studios who stand up to Wal-Mart too for a change. So in a way, I thank Wal-Mart for pulling this idiotic stunt to open up people's eyes. :)

Private organisations cannot fine people. The RIAA has levied no fines against individuals. There have been lawsuits and settlements, but not fines. Also, the RIAA cannot bring criminal copyright infringement charges, only civil ones. As such, you can't say "you're criminals". Criminal copyright infringement is not something that is brought against the casual software downloader, it is something that is charged against individuals that are into piracy for profit.
And it's not theft, it's copyright infringement. Theft deprives the true owner of his possession, copyright infringement doesn't.
At least if we're going to argue, let's argue using the proper terms.
You're right, it wasn't the RIAA handing the fines, of course, it was courts. But you're wrong, there most certainly have been fines:
http://www.wired.com/threatlevel/2009/06/riaa-jury-slaps-2-million-fine-on-jammie-thomas/
http://www.pcworld.com/article/112436/industry_group_pays_childs_riaa_fine.html
My university was one of the schools targeted (several times) by the RIAA, which resulted in subpoenas to individuals, as well as several students losing all access to the university network.

I think if you asked most of the population, the vast majority would find it 100% reasonable and appropriate that any retail company, in any business sector, decides what they will or won't sell in their store - be it WalMart, The Gap, Starbucks, or your local corner grocery store. Apples retail store is just that... a retail store --- and the norms of business retail don't go away, to be replaced by a magical la-la land where people get to do whatever they want.
In your case though, companies have alternatives to get their product out. The App store is virtually a monopoly. So, a company could spend months developing an app and have it rejected for any reason. Then, they would have no alternative to make the development cost back.
We were affected by the Three20 project rejections also. It cause a delay for us which in turn caused a delay to a client. They weren't too happy about it. That said, we tell all clients that we do not control Apple's process and the risk of delays is there.
It is frustrating and hopefully they make a change soon to alleviate some of these problems.

Here are my thoughts ( if anyone cares ):
The left column icons are really bad.
The type headers are too big.
The spacing is horrendous.
Missing Equalizer button.
Missing Visualizer button.
Coverflow was cool as it was a stand alone app. But to just squeeze the exisitng app into itunes is just plain lazy. Doesn't seem like much thought went into that one.
Ipod updates are cool.
The Search is back to how it was. No more tabs up on top? Not searching for videos?
What if i want to collapse the Store section on the Left Column? I can't. Stupid UI.
To be honest, i think all this Apple attention is hurting their creativity. The buttons look like the first version of iTunes for the PC.
Hopefully this is that bad version, and they will correct it. I will be sending these comments to Apple Feedback as well.
Peace.
Update: Oh and i forgot!... the Dock Icon. FUGLY!

Good developers dislike regulation, but in the case of apps, I think its needed. Without regulation, I can just go and make some crap app (that wouldn't work) put a $0.99 price and hope for 20-40 fools a month to accidently buy it. Repeat this step probably 100s of times with clueless "developers" who don't know what they are doing. Regulation at least guarantees the app works, although the functionality and usefulness of the app is up for judgement by the end user.

By the way, am I the only person here who thinks Halo Combat Evolved was the best? Halo 3 comes in very close for me.
Halo: CE was great, and was one of my most memorable experiences in games. I'd never been into shooters before playing it, so I didn't go in with any preconceived notions or anything. It was a blast right from the get-go.I liked Halo 3, but not nearly as much as CE, or even ODST for that matter. The writing and story in Halo 3, while great sci-fi, are a bit silly, in my opinion. I liked ODST for the dark, gritty, get-out-alive feel it had. It had a great story, and was very well voice acted as well.
I'm just waiting for UPS to show up with my Legendary version and Reach console, then I will start playing. I'm hearing, from a large number of people who's opinions I respect, that Reach is just slightly below CE in the list of great Halo games. So, it is looking like Bungie went all out, and successfully so, with their last Halo game. I can't wait to dig in.

[QUOTE=But seriously... $9.99 to $12.99 movie downloads when I can go over to any store (like, oh, say, Wal-Mart) and buy the real deal for a buck or two more? Just how in God's name is this a threat to them?! Wal-Mart's smartest move would be to drop their DVD prices by that buck or two, until they cost the SAME or LESS than online downloads.[/QUOTE]
And that is the point right now.
There is room for both models until downloads become fast enough and cheap enough to kill physical disc forever.
But we all know this is a long way off....in retail terms.
Plus with the new HD formats around the corner physical discs still have plenty of life left in them. No?
Wal-Mart is a bully corporation, like so many in the world. And they have a history of profiting on peoples misery. Whether they be suppliers, employees or competitors. I hope this move takes them down a peg or two.
They deserve all the ****** that gets thrown at them.

But why is that?? Why is there an issue in black communities (and apparently not just in the US) where there is a lack of men wanting to be fathers. As for the aunt jemina and uncle ben reference, not sure what you meant by that but came off as a bit racist.
Really? That's funny... Well, it would be, that's humour!
It's not an issue in other black communities, for instance Kenya, or Nigeria, or many others including Zuid Afrika.
As it pertains to gang culture, it's an issue of strength and the ephemeral notion of respect. Unfortunately their definition of respect comes from movies that they've seen or songs they've heard, rather than the respect afforded someone who actually accomplishes something positive instead of how violent he is.
People who are feared are often respected, people who are respected are not always feared.

Ok, I see your point. But when does the consumer stand up and say "I DON'T WANT WINDOWS ON MY COMPUTER" and force the Dells to load something else besides Windows. If the OS was so undesirable, the consumer would have been up in arms. Dell sells computers with Linux preloaded, but I don't see Linux making any dent in anyones armor.
You missed my point. Microsoft makes many of its billions by selling directly to OEMs, who have no choice but to buy the latest Windows OS from Microsoft. This insures that every one of Microsoft's OS releases is a automatic "success." They sell billions worth, no matter how undesirable it may be in reality.
I'm going to stop, dont want be called a troll, just making convo.

It's bad enough that the suite will be updated every year (.5 edition) and now the subscription too?
Am I understanding correctly: no updates for the mid-term suite for those that plunge for the more expensive bi-annual package? Boo.
I feel bad for all the designers/photographers/filmmakers (part of companys and esp. freelance/new graduates). How the hell will folks be able to afford upgrading every year and/or two years. This doesn't include the time and possible addition outlay to work around the learning curves for all new bells, whistles, bs etc.
I guess I stopped using Adobe's product at the right time. This just makes my wallet and brain cringe massively.

Yeah, Blu Ray players are pretty useless because of the PS3, which is usually cheaper and can play Blu Ray anyway. Of course, my dad got a Blu Ray player before I could say anything
And I think the digital copy is useless because of Netflix, which can just stream it. The internet is the future for now, not discs.
I don't know about the digital copy being useless. I have netflix and I also add movies to itunes. I see them as complimentary. Some items I do not care to purchase and it is nice to have netflix. On the other hand I like owning movie and TV shows that I really like. Also netflix doesn't have everything I want. And don't forget when traveling, you don't always have good internet.
The Apple TV is nice because it accesses both netflix and my itunes media.
Anyway movies I really like, I tend to buy physical copies anyway and rip them to add to itunes. The digital copy/blu ray is better as I can play the 1080p version once in a while and access it on the computer/ iOS anytime.
I'm looking forward to the release of Lord of the Rings extended edition coming out this summer on blu ray. I believe that has digital copy too.

It would be really disappointing if they waited with this upgrade for mwsf 2007.
I don't think we'll see a new MB at MWSF 2007. Possibly a bit later than that in time for the Leopard release.
But then again we never know.

Only on an Apple forum, when new features are raised as possibilities, does a sizeable minority of posts involve griping about "Why would you want to do that?!" or "What kind of stupid feature is that?"
I don't see what's so hard to accept that some times, in some instances, some people might find use of over-the-air updates. Given that Apple always releases new iOS updates at 1pm during weekdays, when the vast majority of us are at work, I can easily invision scenarios where there's a cool new feature in a point update that everyone wants to give a spin. Why not start the download at work so it's ready to test drive before you leave the office?
And, to all those citing bandwidth constraints as curtailing this behavior: Verizon users have no such constraints.
